Construction phase plans for domestic projects, written for you.

Plenty of good builders still believe CDM 2015 does not apply to domestic work. It does. On a householder project the client's duties transfer to you, the contractor, which means the construction phase plan is your responsibility before the first skip arrives. SITEPAPERS writes a proportionate, job-specific CPP so you are covered without drowning in paperwork.

What your domestic CPP deals with

Written to: CDM 2015 regulations 7 and 12, Schedule 2 welfare, HSE guidance L153. The plan is proportionate to your project; padding is what gets paperwork rejected.

Questions, answered

I am a builder working for a householder. Is the CPP really my job?
Yes. On domestic projects CDM 2015 regulation 7 passes the client duties to the contractor, or to the principal contractor where there is more than one contractor. The householder does not write the plan; you hold the duty.
My own crew is the only contractor on the job. Still needed?
Yes. With a single contractor the duty to ensure a construction phase plan is drawn up sits with that contractor. It can be short, but it must exist before work starts.
How long does a domestic CPP need to be?
Proportionate to the risks of the job. A straightforward extension plan is typically a compact document covering the project facts, management arrangements, site rules, welfare, key risks and emergency arrangements. What matters is that it reflects the actual job.
