How do I know if my project is notifiable?

Check the programme against the CDM 2015 regulation 6 thresholds: more than 30 working days with more than 20 workers at the same time at any point, or more than 500 person-days in total. Cross either line and the project is notifiable.

Who actually submits the F10?

On commercial projects, notification is the client's duty. On domestic projects the duty passes to the contractor or principal contractor. Either way the F10 must go to the HSE before the construction phase begins, and the particulars we prepare make the submission straightforward.

Is a notifiable plan much bigger than a standard one?

It is fuller rather than padded: management structure, workforce consultation arrangements and the controls for any work involving particular risks all need to be stated. It stays proportionate to the actual project.
